Below is the list of people who qualify for MississippiCAN
- People with Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- Department of Human Services foster care children
- Disabled children living at home
- Working disabled
- Women with breast/cervical cancer
- Pregnant women and infants
- Family/children on the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
- All newborns

HOW TO CHOOSE TRUECARE
Medicaid health care coverage is available for eligible Mississippians with low income, pregnant women, infants and children, older adults and people with disabilities. TrueCare Medicaid is available across the state of Mississippi.
When you apply for Medicaid, you can choose TrueCare as your health care plan. Whether you apply online, by mail, over the phone or in person, tell them you want to choose TrueCare.
There are several ways you can apply.
- Online: Mississippi’s Common Web Portal
- In person: At the regional office that serves the county where you live. Find your regional office.
- Phone: Call the Office of Eligibility toll-free at 800-421-2408 and ask for them to mail you an application. You can also ask for help over the phone.
- Fax or mail: You can print out an application form at the Mississippi Division of Medicaid website or Mississippi’s Common Web Portal. Then, fax or mail your application to your regional office.
If you have been on your plan more than 90 days, you can switch to TrueCare during your next open enrollment period.
